Job Summary

Powertarps is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sewer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for sewing and assembling high-quality tarps for our customers, ensuring precision, durability, and adherence to specifications. If you have experience in industrial sewing or working with heavy-duty materials, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

• Sewing and Assembly: Operate industrial sewing machines to sew, repair, and assemble tarps according to specifications.

• Material Handling: Measure, cut, and prepare heavy-duty fabrics and other materials for sewing.

• Quality Assurance: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet company standards for quality and durability.

• Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on sewing machines and tools to ensure smooth operations.

• Workplace Organisation: Maintain a clean and organised workspace.

• Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to meet production deadlines and resolve any issues.

• Problem-Solving: Identify and address any defects or adjustments needed during the sewing process.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience operating industrial sewing machines (preferably with heavy-duty fabrics).

• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.

• Ability to read and follow patterns, measurements, and technical specifications.

• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

• Familiarity with sewing techniques such as hemming, binding, and reinforced stitching.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Physical ability to handle large and heavy materials (as needed).
